Dr. Rupert Bushner, Jr. graduated from Buchtel High School (Akron, Ohio) in 1978 he went on to Oakwood College, now Oakwood University (Huntsville, AL) in the fall of 1978. He graduated with a B.A in Theology and a minor in psychology in 1983. Dr. Bushner went on to Andrews University (Berrien Springs, MI) where he received his Master of Divinity in 1986. He continued to sharpen his intellect by attending and then graduating from the United Theological Seminary in (Dayton Ohio) 1996.

He has ministered in the Allegheny West Conference, (1985-2001) and the Southeastern Conference (2001-2006) He has served as Youth and Family Life Director in the Allegheny West Conference (1998-2001) and as Chaplain at Oakwood University 2006-2010. He was called back to Allegheny West Conference in the August 2010 to be the Church Growth/Evangelist; he held that position until January 2013. Presently He pastors the Mt Calvary SDA Church in Huntsville, AL. He has traveled the world preaching and sharing the love of Jesus. In his own words, “preaching is a privilege to talk about his best Friend (Jesus) with others.” His travels consist of South Africa, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada, Bermuda, The Virgin Islands, The Caribbean Islands and coast to coast in the United States.

It was at Oakwood University that Dr. Bushner met the love of his life, Jo Ann King. They dated the entire time and after graduation they were married September 18, 1983. He has been married now for 32 years to his soul mate Jo Ann.  From this union they were blessed with three boys, Rupert III 28 graduate from Oakwood University 2010, Master in business Florida Institute Technology 2013. Ronald Herbert 27 who also graduated from Oakwood 2011 Major psychology. He is married to the former Courtney Daniels and they reside in Bermuda. He is a senior addiction counselor. Reginald Dionne 24 graduate Oakwood University 2012 Major Spanish minor biology. He and JoAnn are the proud grandparents of three grandsons.

Dr. Bushner loves to encourage people; He is passionate about empowering both the young and the old. His desire is to see every soul saved in the Kingdom of God.
