| Is Alcohol Prohibited in the Bible? |
| The Bible is clear on its stance in regard to alcohol. "Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent and stingeth like an adder." Proverbs 23:31, 32 Proverbs 20:1 says, "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise." Perhaps the most famous text that people misinterpret to give themselves an excuse to drink is found in I Timothy 5:23 that says: "But use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine infirmities."
